Name:Achintya (Achin) K. Bhowmik

Achin Bhowmik is vice president in the New Technology Group and serves as general manager of the Perceptual Computing Group at Intel Corporation. He leads the development and deployment of interactive computing technologies and products based on natural sensing, intuitive interfaces, immersive applications and user experiences. Solutions derived from these efforts are branded as Intel® RealSense™ technology.

Before assuming his current role, Bhowmik served as chief of staff for the PC Client Group. Earlier in his Intel career, he led the development of advanced video and display processing technologies for Intel's computing products. His prior work also includes microdisplay technologies and electro-optical devices. He joined Intel in 2000 as a senior research and development engineer.

Bhowmik holds a bachelor's degree in technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur; and a Ph.D. in photonics from Auburn University in Alabama. He has taught graduate-level courses in human-computer interaction, computer vision and display technologies at the University of California at Berkeley and Kyung Hee University in Seoul, South Korea.

Bhowmik has authored or co-authored more than 150 publications, including two books titled "Interactive Displays: Natural Human-Interface Technologies" and "Mobile Displays: Technology and Applications." He holds approximately 30 patents in the fields of imaging, displays, electro-optics and computer architecture, with additional patents pending. He serves on the executive committee of the Society for Information Display (SID), and is vice president of SID Americas. He is also a board member at OpenCV, the organization behind the open source computer vision library.

Judy Rising Reinke assumed the position of Deputy Director General of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service (US&FCS) on June 3, 2013. In this role, Judy serves as the chief operating officer of the U.S. Government’s premier export promotion agency managing its domestic and overseas trade offices.

From August 2010 to June 2013, Judy served as the Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs in New Delhi, India. In this capacity, she was the senior representative of the U.S. Department of Commerce responsible for the operations of the US&FCS in India, supervising the strategic program of seven trade promotion offices and four related agencies.

Prior to this position, Judy served as the Regional Director for Western Europe overseeing the operations of the US&FCS at U.S. Embassies and Consulates in 14 countries in Europe, as well as the US&FCS liaison office at the European Union. Previously, Judy served as the Senior Commercial Officer in Manila, Philippines (2005 to 2008) and in Bangkok, Thailand (2002-2005).
